Sally French Tyler serves as President of First American Title Insurance Company. In this multi-faceted role, Sally is responsible for assisting her divisional leaders with planning, strategy and innovation, and leadership development. More recently, she focused her efforts on revolutionizing the commercial title business through digital transformation. Sally has served on the Board of Directors for First Canadian Title Insurance Company since 2015 and was appointed to the Board of Directors for MISMO - a subsidiary of the MBA that develops standards for information exchange in the mortgage industry - in 2020, serving a three-year term which concluded in 2023.
A seasoned veteran of the title insurance industry, Tyler led First American’s National Commercial Services Division for 16 years, overseeing its strategic operations, innovation and technology, recruiting and development, all while delivering outstanding business results and growth for the division. Under her leadership, the division’s operating revenue more than doubled from 2010 to 2021, averaging an 11 percent increase yearly. Other past company leadership positions held concurrent with NCS include the Mortgage Solutions group (2011-2013) and interim Agency President (2014).
Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and is frequently profiled in industry trades, including the National Real Estate Investor’s “40 Stars of Tomorrow,” Commercial Lender, Commercial Property News, National Real Estate Investor, Business to Business, Globe Street (Women of Influence 2022), the Title Report – Leadership Edition and Real Estate Forum’s “Women of Influence,” as well as Housing Wire’s Women of Influence. Joseph J. Ghilardi serves as Executive Vice President of First American Title Insurance Company and as Division President of the company's National Commercial Services Division. Joe is responsible for overseeing all operational and management aspects for the Division, as well as creating and implementing the division-wide operations strategy.
In his 20 years of leadership at First American Title, Joe supported the division through a period of unprecedented growth, including a number of record-setting years. He was responsible for launching market leading operations in several capital markets across the United States, as well as expanding National Commercial Services’ footprint in key markets, including Austin and Miami. Joe has proven his ability to implement change and innovation to meet shifting market conditions.
During his tenure, Joe has focused on streamlining operations by creating strategic efficiencies. He successfully implemented centralized support teams to assist in all facets of escrow, underwriting and sales; and shaped specialized operations to serve unique customer needs, including the First American Title Energy Group and Commercial Agency Support Team. Additionally, he aligned the processes of ClarityFirst® – the division’s first-of-its-kind comprehensive technology solution – with existing operational practices.
Joe is passionate about mentoring future leaders of the division and company and is a respected voice in the title insurance industry nationwide. He has provided numerous presentations on title insurance, underwriting and claims for the Michigan Land Title Association, along with countless learning sessions within First American. Additionally, Joe is a Michigan State Bar presenter and former member of the Title & Conveyance Committee.
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law. He is an active member of the Michigan State Bar Association, the Florida State Bar Association and the American Land Title Association.
